Monthly Archives: December 2012

So long 2012 it’s been swell

Tomorrow marks the beginning of another year and today the end of one. We aren't doing anything special, just spending dinner with the in-laws and having a big swim in their pool. I've made an eggnog raspberry concoction cake and have fingers crossed that it tastes good!

2012 was a pretty good year for us bar a messy breakup within the family so here are some of the highlights:

  1. Mum & my step-dad thing the knot and then taking us all on a family honeymoon to Bali.
  2. My little sister getting engaged to her amazing fiancé.
  3. Going to Toronto and Niagara Falls.
  4. Trick or treating in Canada.
  5. Not working (bar the 24/7 Mum thing).
  6. The 24/7 Mum thing turning into something I really enjoy.
  7. Logan turning 1!
  8. Spending lots more time with my Mum.
  9. My mother's group known as Boob Wednesday.
  10. Doing personal training sessions on a consistent basis.

Resolutions always pop up this time of year and I've been noticing that 'themes' have become popular too. I decided to settle on the following:

  1. Be healthy – this is a little broad but I don't want to limit myself and then feel frustrated or fail!
  2. Be myself minus the naggy bitch – I tend to be a wallflower in large social situations so now I'm going to let my voice be heard. The nb part is so Andreas doesn't run for the hills screaming and so I stop bitching about people/situations.
  3. Be a doer not a thinker – I spend far too much time reading about stuff on the net than I do doing it. I really want to get our home into order so this is a big one for me!
So from us to you have an amazing end to 2012 and I hope 2013 is filled with joy for you all and if at times it isn't remember you're not alone.

All my love xoxo

Ending on a high

My little sister is engaged!!! We caught a red eye flight last night over east to surprise and celebrate with them. Her poor fiancé thought he was doing a huge surprise but everyone predicted this would be it (he whisked her away on a surprise birthday holiday to his home town in Victoria).

We couldn't be happier and his family is fantastic as well (his Mum actually married my Mum and step-dad). So now I've got two weddings at the end of next year (one of my closest friends is getting hitched too – on Logan's birthday hehe).

I'm hoping I get to be a bridesmaid for my little sister but who knows, at least she is putting up with my crazy planning!

It’s beginning…

to feel a lot like CHRISTMAS!!!

With birthday parties absorbing my life from the beginning of October to the beginning of December I can finally turn my attention to one of my favourite holidays. If you haven't already figured it out I'm big on decorating and getting into the holiday spirit (heck I'd love if we had Thanksgiving here!).

I've also been crafting non-stop after being inspired by the Mums in our Mum's Group. So without further ado here's a little look at what we've been up to:

Oh yeah, Logan can walk now 🙂

We wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. May 2013 bring you everything that you need xoxo.

One Year Old Letter (23.11.12)

Better late than never right?! Sorry I've been so absent but real life has been all consuming!

Dear Logan,

One year old! Where did time go…but at the same time it felt like life was moving in slow motion. You have taken us on a roller coaster little man.

You definitely haven't been the easiest baby to raise but that's made us appreciate the fun moments. & milestones that much more.

This past month has been crazy! You've been clapping, taking steps, dancing – all in all turning into a little boy. So long babyhood, hello toddlerdom!

You are sleeping through & have adjusted really well to only having one boobie feed in the morning. You seem to prefer water over cow's milk as well and love drinking out of our cups. In fact you through a pretty good tantrum if you don't get what's in a cup or mug especially if I'm drinking a cup of tea (I refuse to give you any but you seem to be hooked after Grandma slipped you a few sips!).

On your birthday we started the morning with far singing you the Danish birthday song. Then you crawled through the balloon doorway to find all your presents – you preferred the balloons to any of the actual presents!

We took you out for breakfast & you ate almost an entire muffin but you weren't very keen on the baby chino. It was also the first time you were offered kid's cutlery & you loved using your fork (I've started to let you use a spoon with your breakfast weetbix).

After a nap we headed to the zoo with Grandma & farmor. You enjoyed the animals, ate everyone's lunch, practiced walking & hated the carousel.

The day ended with a family dinner & you enjoying a traditional danish birthday cake. The perfect end to a perfect day.

I wish you all the happiness in the world by beautiful son.

Love always,
